Family Reunion

Troy's Aunts and uncles have a family reunion every year. Alternating between AZ/NM and TN. This year it was in St. Johns, the same weekend as the Pioneer Day Celebration. St. Johns has a week long celebration every year, celebrating their pioneer heritage. We made it to the free ice cream social in the park. Big Q and I ran in the 1 mile fun run. I had planned on running the 5k, but Big Q wanted to do it too, so we decided to do the 1 mile run (walk). We did run most of the way but did have a few walking breaks. We did get lots of candy from the parade. Being that it is an election year, most of the floats were people campaigning for office. We missed the wagon circle and the dances.

We had a good time at all the reunion gatherings. Most of the gatherings were at one of Troy's aunt's houses. The kids had a great time playing in the dirt with their cousins, there were lots of 2nd cousins they had never met before. One evening the kids went to play at the ditch. I let Big Q and Ike go with the bigger cousins. There was a rope swing hanging from a big tree. Ike was swinging and fell into the ditch half in the water and half in the mud. He jumped up and said he wanted to do it again.

We stayed at Troy's sister's house. They love their cousins and all the animals they have at their house. Mostly the kittens and dogs. The hardest part of the whole weekend was watching LT with his broken collar bone. He didn't want to wear the little brace they gave him and he likes to explore. He fell lots of times and has lots more bruises because he couldn't put his hands out to catch himself.

I didn't take many pictures. This is about all.

We also went to see Troy's uncle on the other side, not part of the family reunion. Troy grew up in the house right behind him. Troy remembers driving this tractor when he was younger and wanted to take all the kids on a ride.
While we were there it was time for irrigation. Ike had so much fun playing in the water. Troy and his sister have fond memories of playing in the irrigation too.
