
We got a babysitter from our new ward. It should have been an easy night. I picked her up at 5:00. We didn't leave till 6:00. LT was ready for bed at 7:00 pm. We were invited to be a part of a book discussion group a few months ago and with all the moving and opening a business we hadn't had a chance to go. They are the same group that invited us to take the pricipals of freedom class.
We had a potluck dinner then discussed this book. President Ezra Taft Benson suggested reading this during one of his General Conference addresses.
Here are three questions the author, Gary Allen talked about in one of the chapters.

- What is communism?
- Do you think communism is inevitable in the United States?
Karl Marx's communit Manifesto wants to achieve these three things destroy the right to private property, eliminate the family, and wipe out religion. Communists are working to establish Socialism. The idea that socialism is designed to get people to surrender their freedom to an all powerful collectivist government.
I think that it is important to have a testimony that the founding fathers were divinely guided in writing the constitution and that it is important to uphold the freedoms that are granted in the constitution. We can study, ponder and pray to know if these things are true.
Walter Trohan, columnist emeritus for the Chicago Tribune noted "It is a known fact that the polocies of the government today, whether Republican or Democratic, are closer to the 1932 platform of the communist party then theyare to either of their own party platforms in that cricial year. "
It was a great discussion. We left early because the babysitter called. LT had been crying for an hour and a half. I felt so bad for the babysitter. She probably won't want to babysit again.
